Federal income taxes would be filed using 1 1040 federal income tax return combining all of the different states income on the 1 1040 income tax return.
Your employer would be able to give you the percentage amount that would be withheld from your pay for the total of all taxes on the 1000 amount. Social security, medicare, federal income taxes, state income taxes, local income taxes, etc.
On your federal 1040 income tax return the line that says TAXABLE INCOME after your income tax return is correctly completed up to that line. That would be the amount that you would use to determine your federal income tax liability on. After you determine that amount then it is possible that you could qualify for some nonrefundable tax credits, possibly some other taxes, and then you get your credits for your withheld incomes and other refundable credits that you may qualify for.
An individual taxpayer using the 1040 federal income tax return earned income worked for income and the related income taxes and the personal income taxes would be the same thing on the 1040 income tax return.
Your employer payroll department would have to give you the correct percentage that they will be withholding for all of your federal taxes that they will be required to withhold from your gross income.
Sure they would be required to file a 1040 federal income tax return and pay any income taxes that may be due. Under 950 of unearned income (did not work for income) would be required to file a 1040 federal income tax return and pay some income taxes on the amount over 950 of UNEARNED income.
