No, you do not need to send a copy of your state tax return with your federal tax return. State tax returns are filed separately from federal tax returns and typically do not need to be submitted together.

It depends on the state (we don't know what state you are in) and the complexity of your return. Some states require a copy of your federal return. Some states require a copy only if you have certain types of income or file certain forms. Some states do not require a copy at all. Check the instruction booklet that came with your state tax forms. It should tell you what you need to send. If you are filing your state return electronically you do not need to mail in a copy of your federal return. If you are mailing in your state return then yes a copy of your federal return must be attached.

By individual carrier you can send you tax return to the correct address.
You should be able to get the correct mailing address for your state income return from your state tax department web site or from the information that should be in the instruction book of the tax form that you are using.
Form W-2 is Wage and Tax Statement. If you're filing a paper state return, then you attach Copy 2-To Be Filed with Employee's State, City, or Local Income Tax Return. If you're filing electronically, then you keep Copy 2 with your other tax records for the year.
A W-2 is a form that is given to you at the end of the year by your employer. The form shows how much taxable income you were paid and how much tax was taken out of your pay for the whole year. You use the information on Form W-2 to fill out what is called a "tax return." A federal tax return is Form 1040. You fill out this form to calculate whether your employer took out the right amount of tax. Then you send it in to the government. If your employer took out too much, the government sends you a check called a "tax refund." If your employer took out too little, you have to send a check to the government. FYI, many people mistakenly call the tax refund check a "return." A return is the form you send to the government. If you live or work in a state that has an income tax, you will also have to fill out a state return and send it to your state government.
