Yes. There are no restrictions as to who can deposit cash into an account. Anyone can deposit cash into anyone else's account as long as they know the account number of the account into which they want to deposit cash. For ex: I can walk into the bank branch where you hold a checking account and deposit $500 into it if I know the account number. Nobody will ask or question me as to why I am doing so…

To clarify, I owe money at US Bank for a defaulted credit card with them. I have a TCF checking account. If I try to deposit a check made payable to me, and that check happens to be a US Bank check, can US Bank seize the check made payable to me even if I deposit it into my TCF checking account? Not sure if they will see that US Bank funds are made payable to me from someone else's account. Any insight would help! Thanks!
I think it is US $ 500 for a simple checking account. The bank would give you an ATM card and a check book for this account. However if you arrange to have a Direct Deposit (Your Monthly Salary/paycheck) into this account Bank of America waives this minimum balance requirement and you can have it as a Zero-Balance checking account.
The holder of an account takes responsibility for the outcome of any check deposited into their account. Thus, the bank may require that the person who owns the account also sign the check (and even be present during the deposit) to verify authorization for the deposit. Even though money orders are supposed to be verified funds, the bank cannot risk that the account holder will claim the deposit wad unauthorized if they are charged if the check us returned.
Find got a zero amount in my account from treasury 303?
Yes. Most major banks in the US accept deposit of foreign currency notes. The point to note here is that, the deposit accepting bank would convert the foreign currency into the local currency (US Dollar) at the prevailing exchange rates, before crediting the money into your account.
No. Right now it is a commonwealth of the US. For the longest time the US government has been trying to make PR a state. The people of PR are divided on this. Some are for it and some are against it. The people of PR are citizens of the US and do not require a passport to come to the US. The same is applied to Americans who wish to travel to PR. PRs' currency is the US dollar.
The estate will have to cash the savings bond in and then distribute the earnings.
Yes. If the opening deposit is a check, they will probably not let you withdraw very much of it until the check has been accepted by the issuing bank. That could be overnight or a few days if the other bank is in the US, or several days if it is drawn on a foreign bank. If the deposit is a sight draft or other collection item, your account will not even be credited with the deposit until it has been collected. If you open the account with a cash deposit, the funds should be available immediately.
