The assessor's are usually very relaxed and friendly, so there's no need to worry.

I had an phone interview on the 20th of September 2009 and it was absolutely fine, no pressure at all. I was told immediately after the interview that I had been successful.

Here's how my phone interview went.

They first asked me for my National Insurance number. Then they asked me what my understanding of customer service was.

You will then be asked to give a specific example of when you rendered great customer service.

Then explain a time when you made a sacrifice to achieve a task.

Explain a time when you worked successfully as part of a team. Give a specific example.

If you smile on your end of the phone the interviewer can usually tell and feed off the positive vibe.

So be sure to prepare by carrying out a little research on the position you are applying for and the organization.

Good Luck!

How did you carry out management and leadership in your last job?

This is a competency based interview question where they are looking for evidence of you having used the competency of leadership. To answer the question you should use the CAR format. C = context - What was the situation A= Action - What did you do R = Result - what happened as a result of the action that you took You should check out the competencies that are required before the interview using the job advert and the person specification. So if the advert says they need someone with the ability to work as part of a team you will be asked to provide evidence of how you have done this. Prepare your examples and rehearse them before the interview. In that way you can be more relaxed and confident.
