As someone who suffers from thin, straight hair, I am always looking for ways to improve my hair style. I had almost given up hope of getting a style that flattered my hair and my features until I stumbled upon the Salon Kai.When I met my stylist, Niki, she took the time to ask me what I was looking for in a hairstyle and how much primping I wanted to do in the morning to achieve it. I felt like she was invested in making sure I walked out of the salon with a haircut I truly loved. After about ten minutes of talking, we went back and she washed and shampooed my hair. I've had my hair washed and dried many times, but never as thoroughly as she did. She seemed to massage my head as she washed helping me to relax in the chair instead of tense up. Once my hair was washed, we went back to her station and she had me sit down in the chair. She reconfirmed what we had talked about before she began cutting my hair. During the cut, Niki was very nice we talked about the normal weather, weekend plans, and whatnot. This kept the conversation casual and kept it from getting awkward or a long silence between us.Niki and I had agreed to take several inches of my length and then to put in long layers to my new shoulder length cut. When she finished cutting, she asked me what I thought of the length and if I liked it. No hairstylist had ever asked my opinion before. Of course, I loved the new cut. Once I'd given my approval, Niki began to blow dry and style my hair. Instead of just drying it, she styled it for me. As she styled my hair she talked about the products she was using and the best techniques to use to style my hair exactly as she had. She even told me that if I ever had any questions, that I could stop back in to see her and she would help me out. I've never had such a helpful stylist before.
