pulley an belt are used in driving camshaft, alternator, water pump, air pump, compressor in a car.
It is not like a belt and pulley. A timing belt is a belt and it fits on a pulley.
Move a pulley
The idler pulley on any vehicle is used to maintain the proper tension on the vehicle's belt(s). without it belt maintenance would be difficult.
Snub pulleys are used to increase the angle of wrap of the driver pulley or and to change the direction of belt(deflector pulley)
A deflection pulley is used to change the direction of a belt or chain, while an idler pulley is used to maintain tension in the belt or chain. In other words, deflection pulleys guide the belt around corners or obstacles, while idler pulleys help keep the belt taut and prevent slipping.
If you are referring to the Serpentine belt, you loosen no pulley. You simply remove tension from the belt. The tension is applied by the Idler Pulley. Pry the idler back and remove the belt.If you are referring to the Serpentine belt, you loosen no pulley. You simply remove tension from the belt. The tension is applied by the Idler Pulley. Loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the belt around the alternator pulley and the tensioner pulley. Move the tensioner pulley to the right until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley.
You can change the serpentine belt on your Chevrolet trailblazer, by loosening the tensioner pulley. With the loosened tensioner pulley the belt will come off easily. Tighten the new belt with the tensioner pulley.
The 1.6L engine has a single cam pulley, a water pump pulley used to tension the timing belt, and a crankshaft pulley. The pulleys are concealed by a plastic cover with a rubber seal.
should be a sticker on fan shroud Alternator, idler pulley, power steering, a/c, tensioner pulley, crankshaft pulley, water pump this is the order cant upload the picture but when placing the belt on if the pulley has the grooves in it the grooved side of the belt should face the pulley and if the pulley is smooth then the back of the belt faces the pulley
It would depend on what you want to use the belt and pulley for
