They contract when stimulated by motor neurons of the Central Nervous System or CNS (Martini & Nath, 2009).

Voluntary muscles are ones that you have the ability to consciously control: Arms, legs, mouth, head movement, etc. Most of the major muscle groups used or movement and communication are voluntary.

Involuntary muscles would be things like your heart and the muscles around your intestines, which you generally cannot consciously control.

The skeletal is called "voluntary" muscle because it is usually subject to conscious control.
Voluntary muscles are muscles that move because you decide to cause them to move. You also have involuntary muscles that move on their own without your thinking about it, and usually you are not able to influence their movement much.

All the muscles you can control directly are considered voluntary muscles.

Examples:

You send a message to your hands to start writing your name.

All muscle actions in order to perform this task is voluntary ones.

Look left. Look right. whether you choose to twist your neck or only move your eyeballs, the action is made happening with voluntary muscles by our brain.

Make your heart stop for 5 seconds.

That was more difficult. We simply can not control our heart like that. Our heart is an involuntary muscle because we can not control it with our mind.

Other involuntary muscles: Most muscles in combination with our digestive system.

Because skeletal muscles are the ones that you move of your own free will, usually without even giving it a thought. When you walk, talk and move around, you are doing all of those things by way of your voluntary muscles.

Fortunate for us, heart muscle is not in the same category. Imagine if we had to consciously produce heart beats. Sleeping would be a big problem, but only once. Speaking of sleep, the muscles that are involved in breathing can work voluntarily while we are awake, but continue to work involuntarily when we sleep.

The terms voluntary and skeletal muscle are rally for the same muscle type. These are muscles that move the body by using bones as levers (skeletal) and we have to use our brain and nervous system to make the move (voluntary).

Involuntary muscles are found in all of our hollow organs except the heart and these do not require input from the brain.

Why are voluntary cells called voluntary?

Voluntary muscle also called skeletal muscle because it is partly under conscious control. It is supplied with nerves from the central nervous system.

Skeletal muscle is also known as what?

voluntary or striated muscle

Is the skeletal muscle voluntary or involuntary?

Skeletal muscles are mainly voluntary. Because you can consciously moveyour arm, legs, head, speak, etc.. But they can also be involuntary examples is muscle spasms, reflexes, shivering.

Voluntary muscles tissue is also known as?

Skeletal muscle tissue.

Where in the body is skeletal muscle found?

Skeletal muscle is found throughout the body attached to bones by tendons. It is responsible for voluntary movements such as walking, running, and lifting weights. Skeletal muscle is also involved in maintaining posture and supporting the skeletal system.

What are examples of skeletal?

These is also called as voluntary muscles here are examples: biceps, triceps, fingers, neck, arm muscle, leg muscle... (ETC...) Hamstrings, GLuteals,

Type of muscle that can be controlled?

they are called caultonary muscles. YOU want to use them

What are skeletal muscles and what do they do?

Skeletal muscles are the muscles attached to bones that are under voluntary control. They are responsible for movements such as walking, running, and lifting objects. Skeletal muscles also provide support to the body and help maintain posture.

What are examples of skeletal muscle?

The biceps - any muscle attached to the skeleton.

How are skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle different?

Your cardiac muscle never gets tired, and it is the only muscle in it's category. Your skeletal muscle gets tired many times, and it has many other skeletal muscles in it's category. Your cardiac muscle is also a lot stronger than you skeletal muscle.Sorry, also your heart is an involuntary muscle. We have no control over it. Whereas skeletal muscles are voluntary, we decide to move them or not.

Is a skeletal muscle the same as a striated muscle?

Yes, skeletal muscles are voluntary, meaning they can be intentionally controlled. This distinguishes them from the cardiac muscle (heart) and smooth muscles, which are involuntary.

What type of muscle are the biceps?

Skeletal - Skeletal muscle is the muscle that is attached to the skeleton across joints. It is under voluntary control as we decide when to contract them and produce movement. Skeletal muscle is arranged in rows of fibres and is also called striated, or striped, due to its appearance. The co-ordinated contractions of skeletal muscles allow us to move smoothly and produce sports skills. There are over 700 skeletal muscles in the human body and they make up around 40% of our bodyweight. Skeletal muscle is responsible for the following functions:-Producing movement-Maintaining body posture-Generating heat to keep us warm-Storage of glycogen for energy
