When Adam was created, The Bible tells us that he was created perfect, sinless. God blessed the first human pair and gave them a commission to fill the earth with their offspring who would also be perfect, sinless, provided that Adam and Eve obeyed God. (Genesis 1:28) They had the prospect of living forever in human perfection. But, as many know, they chose disobedience to God, they willingly sinned against God, thus losing perfection, and their right to continue living. (Genesis Chapter 3)

God mercifully did allow them to live a while longer, so that they could have children, and his purpose could be fullfilled for the earth, but Adam and Eve did eventually die. Since they did not have any children until after they lost their perfect human lives, they could only pass on imperfection to their offspring and thus all of their offspring were now subject to grow old, get sick, and die. That is why we grow old, get sick, and die, because of that Adamic condition we are born into.

At Genesis 3:15, we read the Bible's first prophecy, that actually pointed forward to Jesus and how he would rescue mankind from Adamic sin and imperfection. It speaks of a seed that would crush the head of the serpent. That original serpent is identified in Revelation 12:9 as Satan the Devil, who has opposed God from the beginning of mankind's creation. That same prophecy in Genesis spoke of the "seed" receiving a heal wound at the hands of Satan.

That seed is Jesus Christ. He received the heel wound when Satan used his earthly seed to put him to death in the year 33. It was spoken of as a heel wound because it was proved to be only temporary when God raised Jesus on the third day.(Matthew Chapters 27 and 28).

Now here is where the correlation to our sins comes in. Jesus was a perfect human. Adam was also a perfect human, until he sinned. The Bible calls Jesus "the last Adam." (1 Corinthians 15:45) This is because he was Adam's equal. But Jesus died faithful, whereas Adam did not. God has a law that you have probably heard, "eye for an eye, life for a life, like for like." (Deuteronomy 19:21). What Adam lost was a perfect human life, so what was needed to balance the scales of God's perfect justice was a perfect human life to buy back or correspond to what Adam lost. God also has another law that says "unless blood is poured out, no sins are forgiven." (Hebrews 9:22) Jesus provided that perfect human life, and his blood was poured out in sacrifice for the condition of Adamic sin that we are born into. When he returned to his Father in heaven, he could present the value of that life and his blood that he willingly sacrificed, and therefore balance the scales of justice.

Now, having done so, under God's perfect universal law, Jesus can apply the value of his sacrifice to all obedient humans.

Soon, also the crushing of the head of the serpent is to take place, where Jesus will destroy God's opposer, Satan.
