She's important because she helps us understand the perspective of the downtrodden in her day to day descriptions of her & her families ordeal. Some of the events that occured during that period were truly horrific & were committed by humans to fellow humans. We need to fully understand it & the circumstances to ensure it never happens again. It could be my daughter or yours next time if we don't learn from history.
