Climate change is occurring due to the increased presence of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, which are the most recognized "greenhouse" gases. These are causing an enhanced greenhouse effect, which is causing global warming, which is causing climate change.

The climate has changed largely due to human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to an increase in global temperatures. These activities include burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes, which amplify the natural greenhouse effect. Additionally, changes in land use and agriculture further contribute to climate change.

The climate change is mainly because of people neglecting the rules for our society's and environment's. People hardly walk to wherever they need to go now, because of cars, this pollutes the air and gases fly around the earth. People don't turn off their lights, which uses too much energy then we use more fossil fuels creating more greenhouse gases. these greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere, capturing more and more heat.

Climate change is happening because of global warming.

  1. We are releasing too much carbon dioxide by burning oil and coal for electricity and transport.
  2. Our demand for beef means that billions of cattle belch out methane, another greenhouse gas, far more dangerous than CO2.
  3. We cut down vast forests all over the world so that beef cattle can graze.
  4. We are not prepared to cut back on any of this.

Global warming is causing climate change.

There are many causes of global climate change.

There is a feed back loop. As there are fewer glaciers and there is less sea ice, less sunlight is reflected back into space. More sunlight heats up the earth.

As farmland and grassland turns into desert, it absorbs more sunlight and heats up the earth.

A number of people blame carbon dioxide. There is more of it.

A lot of soot is being pumped into the atmosphere. That is absorbing a lot of sunlight and heat.

There is a lot of methane escaping into the atmosphere. Methane is many times more powerful a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

Our earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old and we have always had different climates such as an ice age, etc. The earth is not like a robot where everything is always kept the same and constant, mother nature always changes in someway. We don't have the same temperature, dew-point, humidity and sunlight everyday, so therefore, we always have changes on Planet Earth such as 'Climate Change'. It is a totally normal effect on the Earth that we don't have to worry about because we can't control it, even though we can reduce the amount of Co2 that is being put into the air, but that still won't stop climate change, that will just slow it down.

There are natural changes in our climate. These are caused by:

  • variations in the energy from the sun
  • the way the earth orbits the sun
  • the way oceans transfer heat from one area to another
  • volcanic activity (dust particles released in an eruption can disrupt the atmosphere)

Humans also cause changes to our climate. The biggest contributor is gas released into the atmosphere from cars and burning fossil fuels. Developed countries contribute the most in carbon dioxide. Other gases such as methane (produced from cow dung, decaying landfill and peat bogs) also contribute to climate change.

It's a combination of natural and artificial events. The Earth is still 'coming out' of the last ice-age that cooled the planet - therefore the temperatures will gradually rise anyway. However - since the industrial revolution, the human race has released billions of tonnes of waste gasses and other pollutants into the atmosphere - speeding up global warming.

It's a combination of factors... Firstly - we're still emerging from the last ice-age - and the planet is naturally warming up. Secondly -we humans are pumping tonnes of pollutants into the atmosphere -destroying the protective ozone layer, and preventing excess heat from the sun from escaping back into space.
