no its a normally found in salt water, i was watching a documentary about box jellys and they were saying the box jellyfish is virtually indestructible, they tested this by putting it in all different water (freezing cold, boiling hot and polluted) and these things didn't seem to bother the jellys at all which leads me to believe that although they traditionally live in salt water they would survive in freshwater also. x Well, I think so considering that Will Smith's new movie, Seven Pounds, has a box jelly fish as a pet and you see him just filling up the tank with water out of a hose, no way he knows pH level and acidity.

Rarely, but the box jellyfish species, Chironex fleckeri, enters freshwater rivers and mangrove channels during spawning, where they die shortly after releasing gametes into the water. The developing polyps continue to live in fresh water until they bud the adult medusa that then returns to the marine environment.

There is also one freshwater species (Craspedacusta sowerbii) found throughout most parts of the world, that lives in freshwater continually.
