Hannibal invaded Italy and many Roman armies but was unable to capture Rome its self. Hannibal was pursued by Roman assassins for the rest of his life. Hannibal was sick of this and... well... couldn't be bothered with his life any more really so he took poison rather than be killed by the Romans. He was distressed.
Because he killed lots of roman soldiers and invaded their land.That may be so, but Romans mostly hated Hannibal because he wanted to invade the Meditarrean Sea.
