In the king James version
* Mat 27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. * Luk 3:1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,
The Roman Governor who tried Jesus on Pontious Pilot. Jesus was later crucified even though he did absolutely nothing wrong.
The Roman official who tried Jesus was Pontius Pilate.
Pontius Pilate was the Procurator of Judea. During his tenure there, he was faced with the problem of Jesus. The Jewish leaders in Jerusalem believed that Jesus was a false "God" and a danger to the Jewish establishment. They wanted him executed. In Judea, only a Roman governor or Procurator had the authority to pass a death sentence. Rather than having problems with Jewish leaders, Pilate relented and ordered that Jesus be crucified.
Pontius Pilate was the Roman official who oversaw the trial of Jesus, but he was not a governor. Pilate was a procurator, which was a governor's assistant or agent.

it is know as a roman govenor but was called propraetor
You need to specify which governor you want to know about. The governor of which Roman province?
The Nazis tried to claim that Jesus was not a Jew, but was the son of a roman legionary from Germany.
The Romans did not fear Jesus. He was a preacher in a small corner of their vast empire and did not know much about him. The Roman procurator of Judea actually tried to defend Jesus from the accusations which were levied against his by the Jerusalem elite.
The Romans did not view Jesus as a political threat. It was the Jewish priests who saw Jesus as a threat. When they presented charges of sedition against Jesus to the Roman governor he did not believe these charges and thought that he was innocent. He tried to save Jesus, but was forced to sentence him to death by the crowd.

It means that His Own people rejected Him as their Messiah, & handed Him over to the Roman Govenor to be Crucified.

He was first tried by the Parishes, (Jews who ran the Holy Temple). The Jews found Jesus (a Jew) guilty of blasphemy (of calling Himself the Son of God). Since the Jews did have the power to execute a blasphemer (being controlled by the Romans), they sent Him to Pointus Pilot (a Roman govenor) who found Jesus guilty of calling Himself a king and had Jesus crucified. There had to be two trials. One for the Jewish leaders and one for the leader of the Romans who occupied Israel.

Only a roman ruler could legally order an execution, which is what the Jewish leaders wanted.
The true answer to this is still unknown but researchers think that he did this because he caused to much trouble with the Roman civilization, and the Jewish council thought against Jesus. They thought Jesus was a blasphemer and went directly to the Romans to see to it that he was put to death...
