The United States bought the territory of Alaska from Russia in 1867. Russia wanted to sell: it needed money, it was concerned that it might lose the Alaska Territory in any event through war with Britain, and saw little value in Alaska's vast natural resources. U.S. Secretary of State William H. Seward urged President Andrew Johnson to agree to the purchase, believing it would be a good investment. The purchase was ratified by the U.S. Senate and the U.S. gained 586,412 square miles of new territory at a price of $7.2 million.

Europeans first saw West Africa as a new territory to obtain spices and agricultural products. West Africa was also a place for Europeans to trade their own goods.
As is often the case when governments make treaties the real motivation may not always be obvious. Russia had more land then it needed, and so did the United States. Russia may have had a financial motivation and needed money more then it needed land in the New World and its Alaskan Colony was expensive to maintain and almost impossible to defend without a modern Pacific Fleet which it could not afford to build at the time. Russia also had a valid claim to New World lands as far South as the Oregon Territory which American immigrants were entering.Secretary of State William H. Seward saw this potential conflict of interests and he had a solution. By purchasing Alaska and all Russian claims in North America the US would have a Nation from Sea to Shining Sea. Alaska was not something that he really had an urge to buy, he wanted Russia out of North America. Alaska was simply icing on the cake that might be worth something someday. The bargain was made and both Nations got what they thought was a good deal.
Her Birthday is September 17th. I saw it all on her Twitter Fan page and even she mentioned it on her twitter with the #virgosrule. Lol. The year unknown but my guess would be sometime between 1970-1972.
Most did not, and those like Secretary of State Seward and President Johnson could not find solid arguments that would support Alaska's Purchase. For most it was just an after thought and the real prize was getting Russia out of the New World and clearing any Russian claims to Oregon Territory.

The US did expand its territory after the US Civil War. One outstanding event was put together by US Secretary of State Seward. He agreed to purchase what is now the state of Alaska. At the time, many Americans saw no value in making this purchase. As it turned out, it was a wise move by Seward.
It's unknown. He cut his foot off in the first Saw.
That answer to that is currently unknown but you can get an accurate walkthroughhere = http:/nextgenwalkthroughszperiodzcom/Saw
OK. Where were you the last time you saw it ?
Yes, Alaska was previously owned by Russia. It was (officially) purchased in 1867 by the US via William Seward. The purchase of Alaska for 7.2 million dollars was viewed as Seward's Folly because no one saw any financial reason for the purchase. One could argue that this label was lifted when both gold and large quantities of oil were discovered in the state.
Probably not, sorry. I saw it in Los Angeles and it was wonderful.
