Avatar Aang
Wrong! EVERY Avatar is the best water bender [and fire, air and earth bender]. It's not just Aang. There was WAY more than one Avatar.
Katara is the best waterbender by the end of the series. Being the Avatar doesn't mean you are the best at bending any single element (although Aang is the best airbender by default). It is enough that the Avatar is the only person alive that can bend all four elements and enter the Avatar state.
Thus, I would classify the Avatar as the best overall bender. Katara is a better waterbender than Aang. She teaches him, she can draw water from any source and she is one of only two bloodbenders. (Even Pakku can't blood bend) She is the most powerful blood bending water master by the end of the series making her the best waterbender.
does not say on the show
they didn't say...
No one knows for sure. The oldest avatar we see is an unnamed fire nation avatar. This avatar came before Avatar Yangchen.
It is unknown. The last named avatar was a female airbender named Yangchen. But, there was many unnamed avatar statues in the air temple Aang is from.
my answer was avatar saror that is from the southern water tribe
if you mean in the series, no. the creators of avatar decided to stop making avatar when aang learned all the bending because each chapter is named for the element he is trying to learn. but in theory, yes. after aang dies, the next avatar spirit will be reincarnated into a waterbender.
no because there is no point of making a chapter 22 and if they do they have to delay the time they are casting the movie because they have to make changes so NO And the movie is coming out 2010 summer
She was the Avatar before Roku. The major threat to the world in her time was a warlord named Chin the Great and he demanded control of Kyoshi Island (at which time was part of the mainland). She split Kyoshi from the mainland and made Kyoshi Island and killed Chin to keep peace. And it's kind of interesting to know that the person who does her voice also does June the bounty hunter's voice.
Aang had three kids: Bumi (born with no bending abilities), Kya (a Waterbender named in honor of Katara's mother who was mercilessly killed during a Fire Nation raid), and Tenzin (an Airbender).
Well if Aang is reincarnated and the new avatar needed to learn air bending either the new avatar would learn how the original air benders mastered air bending that would be the logical way just as Zuko found out the original fire bender exerted there power.
There will not be another Avatar after Aang, the creators thought it best to end it with Book 3. But if there was going to be one after Aang, he'd be a Waterbender.
katara is never going to airbend! she is a waterbender! the only person who can air bend is the air nomads and the avatar!

No, instead the creators of Avatar the last airbender have decided to create a new series called "Avatar: Legend of Korra" (Korra will be the new avatar after aang a waterbender). The new series will premire in 2011 on Nick. Don't mind asking for more info and don't forget to visit our site http://thecommentingteam.webs.com/
Aang's three children are Kya, the eldest and a waterbender, Bumi, a non-bender, and Tenzin, the youngest and the only living airbending master.
Due to the fact that Aang is the avatar and waterbending is apart of his genes and Katara is a waterbender the most likely out come would be a water bender child but scientificly it would depend on the dominate and recessive genes from both of them
The answer is rather simple. He is an airbender, and the genes would pass off into his children [with Katara]. So his kids will be airbenders [though not Avatars]. Another plot that could be used is that, if you do pay enough attention to the show, the next Avatar would be a waterbender [the Cycle goes air, water, earth, fire] and that could also be his child because he clearly is going to have them with Katara, who is a waterbender. An Avatar does not have to be an airbender; the Avatar could come from any of the Four Nations, as long as they are still alive, but of course they will be anyways. There is a rumour from the producers of Avatar saying that airbenders learned to 'become' the wind when the war began. So they may well return...
In the puppetmaster episode, Katara learns bloodbending from an old waterbender. Katara also uses bloodbending in the episode 316: The Southern Raiders.

Do you mean the Airbender in the opening voice-over (for lack of a better word)? The Airbender is Aang. As a side note, the Waterbender is Master Pakku, the Earthbender is The Boulder, and the Firebender is Princess Azula.
