Yes - it was called MV Conquest, and was based in Port Vauban, Antibes, during the late 1970s, when I was a member of its crew. Captain was Fred Lammas, his girlfriend cooked, 4 other crew including a chief engineer. Norman never used it himself, but had income from chartering it.

This depends on the size of the yacht. For motor yachts, a 60' and under may only have a Captain, or a Captain and a Mate. Once you get up to the 100' length, you could easily have a crew of 5. 200' yachts usually have around 14 crew members.
I have heard that the best rule of thumb is $1,000 per foot of the yacht. So, the captain of an 80 foot boat would make $80,000 per year, the captain of a 180 foot boat would make $180,000 per year. This of course varies simmilar to any profession,
