Although the parties of Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Adams no doubt had the word "Domocratic" as part of their names, they were not a forerunner of the present-day Democratic Party. You should also know that Jackson's Democratic party split and essentially died just before the Civil War. I would begin the list with Cleveland, the first President elected from the modern Democratic party and the first to defeat a Republican candidate. You can make a case the Jackson's party was a forerunner of the modern Demcratic Party.
