Andrew Jackson was hit in his chest with a bullet that he kept all his life because

it was too dangerous to try to remove it.

He killed the other man. The duel occurred long before he was President.

I'm not sure about a President, but one of the most famous duels was between Alexander Hamilton and sitting Vice President Aaron Burr (under Thomas Jefferson). Hamilton was shot and killed.
