Respiration happens at a cellular level in all the cells of aerobic organisms. This includes all animals, all plants, and most bacteria, protists, and archaebacteria.

Some bacteria, protists, and archaebacteria do not respirate normally, but convert energy by fermentation, either of alcohol or lactic acid variety (the two are distinguished by the waste product, named in each case).

Almost all cells are capable of fermenting sugars, but this less effective energy conversion method is usually only used by aerobic organisms when oxygen is unavailable.

Where in the cell does most of areobic respiration occur?

in the mitochondria

Where does fermentation occur in the cell-?

Cytoplasm, because it is an anerobic respiration, and does not require O2, so it does not occur in the mitochondira.

What is the main difference between fire and respiration?

Aerobic respiration occur in living cells but fire does not occur in a cell. A fire activity occur in an open environment and does not require a material medium but aerobic respiration require a closed system which is usually the living cells to occur.

Where in the cell does the glycolysis part cellular respiration occur?

Glycolysis occurs in Cytosol.

Where do photosynthesis and cellular respiration occur in cell?

Photosynthesis occurs in chloroplast.Respiration occurs in mitochondria.
