Saturn was named after the Roman God, Saturn. Saturn is the Romanequivalent of the Greek God, Cronus, the king of the titans (before the Olympians) and father of the Olympians that ate his babies son they wouldn't kill him like he killed his father, Uranus (which is also the only planet named for a Greek God).
