What freedoms and rights are protected by the bill of rights?
The Bill of Rights are amendments to the US Constitution. It
insures that basic human rights cannot be damaged by a too powerful
central government. The most prominent amendments are:
* right to free speech;
* right of a free press;
* power of citizens to assemble and petition the government;
and
* freedom to practice one's religion, the government cannot pass
any laws that interferes with religions.
