on the front of the engine behind water pump (water pump is bolted to it )
timing chain has too much slop and rubs side of timing case
if its a305,or 350 it is located intake by the thermostat housing.or in the t-stat housing
I can't remember exactly, but it's on the intake manifold side of things. It is be pretty obviously threaded into a water passage if you look around by where the thermostat is.

The thermostat is located in the water pump behind the timing belt plate cover. the thermostat is in the bottom rad hoase where it conects to the motor.
The water pump is located where you would expect, front middle of engine. You can't see it because there is another assy. that fits over the top(front) of it that has to be removed before you can gain access.
On the 2001 Toyota Celica, the water pump is located to the right of the radiator. A hose connects the radiator to the water pump.
located and connected to the fan,drain radiator,remove both ,radiator hoses, remove fan belt,remove fan shroud,remove radiator.remove fan,remove water pump.

yes it does if your water pump is leaking its most likely from there and you will have to get a new water pump installed.
