On my '96 Voyager w/ 3-speed transmission, it is on the transmission part termed the "extension housing" which is where the right drive-shaft (passenger side) exits the transmission. Put the van on ramps and crawl under the transmission. It should be the only thing with an electrical cable near there. It is above the drive-shaft. I recall it is held by a single bolt and has a circumferential O-ring. It often gets broken when the transmission is pulled since it slides past a body support and people don't see it until too late. Indeed, I broke mine and the sensor on the replacement transmission I got was broken.
The input speed sensor is the two wire sensor on the front of the transmission case closest to the engine.
Where is my veh.speed sensor input location
The input and output speed sensors are located on the front of the trans. They have two wires and the input sensor is closer to the engine.
What this trouble code means that the input power(+) to the speed sensor is low.
There is no input speed sensor. The output sensor is located on the driver side rear of the auto trans case.
transmission/ transfer case
It measures the speed of the transmission input shaft. The transmission computer uses this info for shift timing.
Depends on what transmission we are talking about... if its the A413 its real simple, the speed sensor is located on the back of the transmission, right about where the passenger side axle goes into the transmission... the sensor is held in with 1 10mm bolt, when removing you will have to wiggle the sensor back and forth because it will be a tight fit because the sensor has an 0 gasket on it.... if its the A604 4speed transmission, then there is 2 speed sensors that are plasic, an input and an output speed sensor, the input is located near the trans dip stick, im not sure where the output is.
On top of the transmission
right on the trans they are plug ins one is a speed sensor
It is a sensor on the transmission that reads the rotational speed of the input shaft. It is a sensor on the transmission that reads the rotational speed of the input shaft.
There are two speed sensors on a 1996 Dodge Avenger, an input speed sensor and an output speed sensor. Both are located on the front of the transmission.
