I have a 2000 and I'm assuming it's the same for 2002. There is 2 on the gm 3.4l engine. One is in the front behind the crankshaft pulley/damper (in front of the right front wheel, tranverse mount engine), the other is on the firewall side of the engine. Both can and will go out, replace both at the same time. One common problem is the lead wire from the side crank sensor fails due to heat from the exhaust manifold destroys the insulation and the wire grounds out on the body giving an constant or intermittent engine misfire.
The spare tire on an Oldsmobile Silhouette is located in the very back, under a carpet piece. The tire is mounted in a flat position.
if it has a 3.1 or 3.4 it is located between the engine and the trans just above the oil pan.
where
Can anyone please tell me where the ignition switch is located on a 2000 oldsmobile silhouette?
The crankshaft sensor is in the front of the engine.Above the starter. You will have to drop the starter.2 15mm bolts.Look up and there it will be.
On the 3.8 litre engine its located on the forward side under the harmonic balancer. You need to pull the balancer to replace the sensor. The magnetic pick-up on the sensor rides in the stainless steel stotted track on the rear of the balancer.
it is located in the upper housing of the air filter.
The oil pump is located on the bottom of the 2003 Silhouette engine. The oil pan has to be removed to get to it.
