I have a 96 grand cherokke limited but Im guessing they are in the same spot...

its under the dash just to the left of the steering column.. you will have to remove the lowest part of the dash to get to the screws holding it in place.. once the plastic is out of he way there should be the metal support for the dash. its on the other side being held there by four screws... it should have 3 plugs going into it one on the botom and two on th eback facing away from you

If it is in a similar place as the 1994 Grand Cherokee, it is located on the driver's side near the door, on the underside of the dash panel. On the 1994 it is a reddish purple color plastic box slightly larger than a cigarette pack. The BCM slides out toward the front of the car but you will have to find a catch that holds it into the dash; the catch is located under the BCM and can be accessed by pushing a screwdriver into a hole in the dash. Good luck
