This occurs WITHIN the DNA molecule [large individual=chromosome] AS IT exists in a Cell's nucleus.

Before any synthetic activity may be performed upon nuclear chromosomal DNA, it must first be decondensed, or dispersed into Chromatin within the Cell's Nucleus.

It occurs within the eukaryotic nuclear envelope, also called the nuclear membrane. There are an immense number of ' co-factors ' involved.

There is a special set of activities that act to 'dissolve' the nuclear envelope when needed - at the time of cytosis, or cell division.

The envelope may be reassembled easily within the two daughter cells, as all the needed components still exist, just in inactive forms for a short time.

What is the site of DNA replication in eukaryotes?

The site of DNA replication in eukaryotes is the nucleus. Replication occurs in the nucleus because this is where the DNA is stored. The process involves unwinding the DNA double helix and synthesizing new strands of DNA using the existing strands as templates.

Where the cell does DNA replication take place?

DNA replication takes place in the chromosome which is located in the nucleus of a cell.

DNA replication takes place in the chromosome which is located in the nucleus of a cell.

Where does replication in DNA take place?

DNA replication takes place in the nucleus of a eukaryotic cell (plant or animal cell or the cytoplasm of a prokaryotic cell (bacteria).

Does DNA replication take place in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells?

No, DNA replication takes place in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. The nucleus contains the necessary enzymes and machinery for DNA replication to occur accurately.

How does topoisomerase affect the DNA strand during DNA replication?

The topoisomerase enzyme uncoils the double helical structure of DNA during its replication to form the replication fork. In eukaryotes both posive and negative supercoils get unbind by topoisomerase I & II respectively.Topoisomerase isomerase unwinds DNA to form replication fork

Where does the DNA replication take place in prokaryotic cell?

Replication of cellular components such as DNA takes place within the cytoplasm or nucleoid which some prokaryotes have. A nucleoid is a primitive form of a nucleus.

What sets of materials are required by both eukaryotes and prokaryotes for replication?

Both eukaryotes and prokaryotes require nucleotides (A, T/U, C, G) for DNA replication, DNA polymerase enzymes for synthesizing new DNA strands, and primers to initiate the replication process. Other materials like ATP for energy and various cofactors and proteins are also necessary for efficient DNA replication.
