There are currently four US Mints:
• Philadelphia, PA - produces circulating coinage, "P" mint mark since 1980; no mint mark before that except on 1942-45 nickels and 1979 dollars
• Denver, CO - produces circulating coinage, "D" mint mark
• San Francisco, CA - makes proof and other collectors' coins, "S"
• West Point, NY - makes commemorative and other collectors' coins, as well as occasional issues of cents when demand is high. "W" mint mark on all coins except circulation cents.
Other related facilities are in Fort Knox, KY and Washington, DC, but these do not produce coins.
Four other Mints operated in the 19th century - New Orleans, Carson City, Dahlonega GA, and Charlotte.

Their are two mints in the US and each bill and coin has marked on it the mint it originated from. The mints are located in Denver, Colorado and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania A coin minted in Philadelphia will have a "P" on it and one minted in Denver will have a "D".
