Gunpowder came to Europe in the late 13th century. The first guns appeared along side. To clarify your question, 'gun' can refer to either artillery/cannons or small arms. The first small arms (i.e. hand cannon) appeared in the 14th Century.

Records show that Gunpowder was being made in the Tower of London from as early as 1346.

It wasn't until 1605 though that Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament with gunpowder.

It was Spain, for Spain was always in contact with the Moors (North African Muslims) who introduced gunpowder to them.
