First of all...I was happy to see that I'm not the only one whowas curious about the brand of desk lamp used on NCIS. You will also see the same lamp used on CSI. After quite a bit of searching, I believe I have finally found "the" lamp. As far as I can tell...it's a Tolomeo Classic Task Lamp by Artemide. I found it (as well as a mini version) at lumens.com. It comes in Aluminum (used on the show), Black and Aluminum, and White and Aluminum.

The outlets in your house are in parallel with each other. If your question is is your TV in series with something else plugged into your house, it is not, it is in parallel (since your house wiring is in parallel). The giveaway for series or parallel circuits is if you remove one element in a series circuit, you will kill all other elements. In a parallel circuit, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference. For example, if you have a surge protector plugged into your wall, and a lamp plugged into your wall, and your TV and DVD player are plugged into the surge protector: The surge protector is in SERIES with your TV and DVD player The surge protector is in PARALLEL with your lamp The DVD player and TV are in PARALLEL

The lamp is a piece of equipment that is built into your LCD TV. This lamp is what brightens the screen on the television. The bulbs for this lamp can break and need to be replaced.
The lamp must be adjusted.
To change the projection lamp in a Sony KF-50WE620 TV, first ensure the TV is unplugged and cooled down. Locate the lamp cover at the back of the TV and remove it by unscrewing the screws. Then, pull out the old lamp and insert the new lamp in its place. Finally, secure the lamp cover back and plug in the TV to test the new lamp.
A Panasonic TV lamp is for projection televisions that have burnt out their bulb already. If you need to replace your TV lamp then you will have to probably get someone to do it for you unless you are comfortable with your technology abilities.
Average lamp expectancy is about 2000 hours. If the TV shuts off the lamp intermittantly and then powers back on after a minute or so, a lamp change is probably in order.
Samsung is using the BP96-00677A lamp in various of their televisions. Samsung is actually the only television producer using the BP96-00677A lamp to light their screens.

It's time to replace a TV lamp when it begins to dim and lose brightness. Although some people wait until the lamp stops working entirely before they buy a replacement.
The lamp can't be 'repaired', it is always just replaced. I would contact the store where you purchased the TV and see if they can order you a replacement lamp. Most TV's can be re-lamped by the customer.
Rear projection TVs are powered by a high-luminosity lamp. This lamp shines light through an LCD screen, creating an image on a rear-projection TV screen. Many TV lamps have a limited lifespan, requiring replacement after several thousand hours of use. When replacing a TV lamp, find the model that works for a certain TV brand. After purchase, locate the access panel on the back of the TV. Remove the old lamp, and clear the area of all dust. A great way to clear dust is with a vacuum cleaner or compressed air. Install the new lamp, and replace the TV panel.
