Excessive squeezing will cause haemolysis of the sample, i.e., the rupture of red blood cells, thus releasing their content (Hb and electrolytes) into the plasma. Haemolysis will alter potassium, ionised calcium (ICa), phosphate and enzymes. If gross haemolysis occurs, all results may be affected, due to a dilution of the sample by dissolved haemoglobin.
Tissue fluid (resulting in increased potassium levels) may also contaminate the blood sample if you squeeze too hard.
by wrapping around them and squeezing them to death
A python kills by wrapping around its prey and squeezing it to death
A puncture wound will be greater than its length, therefore there is usually little bleeding around the outside of the wound and more bleeding inside, causing discoloration
Anaconda. Would wrap itself around the cougar squeezing it to death.
Use a cheese grater around the knees and top of the tighs then small use a small kitchen knife for puncture holes or small slits if you want excessive distressing around the shins. Don't go mad with the knife, use most of the ripping to the grater higher up on the jeans and youll be fine.
Anacondas kill their prey by wrapping around them and squeezing them to death.
The difference between a compression fitting, and a capillary fitting is: in plumbing, are two types of fastening pipe together. Compression is the squeezing of a material around that of another material to secure a leak proof joint. A capillary fitting is a fitting usually involving a heat source as in copper pipe being soldered together. Soldering two pieces of pipe using a gas propane torch and a joiner which is simply another small piece of copper pipe that is made larger at both end to allow the pipes to enter each end of the joiner. After cleaning the ends and applying a flux to the ends you are ready to fasten the pipes together by just heating the joiner when the temperature is hot enough the solder will melt around the pipe. In a vertical position the top will solder easily, with gravity and heat. The bottom will use capillary action which is a sucking up of the solder due to the heat and flux.
The puncture site depends on the part of the pancreas to be sampled, ranging from it's head to it's tail. Draw a ring around the body from the level of the underside of the ribs to the level of the umbilicus and you have a rough idea of where the puncture will be. The path of the needle is chosen to avoid vascular and digestive structures.
a constrictor is a type of snake that coils around its prey, squeezing and suffocating it, such as a boa constrictor or green anaconda.
The rise around the edges is called the meniscus, like capillary action this is caused by the adhesion of the liquid molecules to the walls of the container. In a large bore tube like a test tube or graduated cylinder this pulls up the edge and creates a concave meniscus, in a smaller bore tube this actually pulls the liquid toward the top of the tube.
Thin walls to allow gases to diffuse across them
Capillary action is important for moving water (and all of the things that are dissolved in it) around. It is defined as the movement of water within the spaces of a porous material due to the forces of adhesion, cohesion, and surface tension.Plants and trees couldn't thrive without capillary action. The roots are capable of carrying water from the soil up into the plant.
