PROS: It ended the war. We gave them a chance to surrender. There would have been more people killed if we had went over there to fight. The two cities that were bombed were going to get fir-bombed anyways. Only two bombs were ready and we couldn't afford to drop a test one. The results of the bomb droppings have prevented other countries from dropping nuclear bombs and such.

So much money was spent to research and build the bombs that we figured that we might as well use them, or it would look like we were just wasting money. On the other hand, innocent civilians' lives would be lost, the power and potential of the full-scale bomb is truly unknown. The bomb would give the U.S. a savage and immoral image, and would leave great devastation in the affected country, giving us a bad reputation, possibly causing the opposite of the wanted effect. It could cause a larger war involving more countries.
