They were perfect examples of Gods salvation. While only a few moments earlier they were both reviling Jesus in their teeth, suddenly out of nowhere one of the thieves asks Jesus to remember him. That's because God gave him a new heart to ask while the other thief didn't. You see God is the author of salvation. It took God to change his heart to cause him to seek. Salvation is of the lord lest any man shall boast.

Answer

They were both criminals. Only one of them spoke abusively to Jesus. The other rebuked the first by saying that they were being punished because they deserved it and that Jesus had done nothing wrong. He then turned to Jesus and asked that he be remembered when Jesus came into his kingdom.

Their names are Dismas for the penitent one, and Gestas for the impenitent one. However their names are undisclosed in the New Testaments, and are names given to them afterwards by the Catholic church.

The Bible does not mention their name. But one thing is clear one repented and was saved, the other did not was doomed.

Information on two thieves crucified with Jesus?

the good thief was Dismas and the bad thief was GestasAnswerThey were crucified in the same way as Jesus. After being properly scourged they were nailed to their crosses. No pain and humiliation was saved to them. Dismas' cross was put on the right side of Jesus, while Gestas was crucified on Jesus' left. However, scripture does not name them and any names ascribed to them were later inventions.

What are the names of the two men who died on the cross with Jesus?

You just know they had to have done something bad enough that got them crucified...But it doesn't say their names or where they're from. I believe the good thief was named "Dismas". I don't think it's in the bible but for some reason the name Dismas was given.
