Colonel William Travis was married at one point to a woman by the name of Rosanna Cato. They had a son together, and were about to have a daughter when Travis abandoned them in 1831 to start his life over in Texas. The couple officially divorced in 1836, she remarried and moved to Alabama. Travis was killed in action at the Battle for the Alamo on March 6th, 1836 (just 26 years old). Rosanna outlived Travis by twelve years, dying in 1848 of yellow fever during an outbreak in Alabama.
