Thomas Jefferson hated any kind of taxation. Although for the exception of the Bank of the United States, Thomas Jeffeson believed that the so called "National Credit" Should not be used but preserved and used to an extent. This was going to amount our debt by many if we used it like Hamilton proposed it. Therefore Thomas Jefferson believed that the only way to fix the debt with tariff and taxes, but he warned his countrymen that they should try to avoid it.

Also TJ opposed taxes on agragian farmers.
