varies from vehicle to vehicle, best thing is to check your owner's manual. There are multiple choices:
What weight oil to use?
Whether to use 'dinosaur-based' (regular oil) or synthetic?
Are additives needed?
(Some differentials equipped with "limited slip" require oil to not be too slippery...or the 'limited slip' function will not operate correctly...so some synthetics such as 'RED LINE' may be TOO slippery to use unless a special additive that increases friction is added.)
Best way to find out what you need? Find an owners manual.
And synthetics aren't always the
