Members of the deer family, unlike most mammals, do not have any teeth in the front of the upper jawbone. Replacing the teeth is a resilient pad that makes contact with the lower incisors. Deer have 32 teeth: 8 incisors, 12 premolars, and 12 molars. They usually do not have any canine teeth.

They have flat teeth for grinding. Deer have no front top teeth as do all ruminating animals.

Deer do not have top front teeth! They have a plate like object in the front instead...

No they do not. They have a set of bottom teeth, on the top of the mouth is a bony plate.

Because deer do not eat meat, they do not need and therefore do not have canine teeth.

I am told by hunters that they do not, but I just saw pictures which seem to show upper and lower teeth. Maybe it varies by species.
