"D" is the highest letter for all 1934-dated $10 bills regardless of whether they're silver certificates or Federal Reserve Notes. If the "J" is in a large circle to the left of Hamilton's portrait, please check the banner across the top of the bill - it's almost certain you have a Federal Reserve Note and not a silver certificate.
