The C-5 introduced in 1997 is still an engineering marvel, and the newer C-6 being sold now has a lot of improvements. If you are considering buying a used C-5, they had most of the bugs out by 2001.

I was at a Killebrew seminar a couple of years ago at Mid-America Funfest. Gordon gives free seminars there. Someone stood up and asked him what the best Corvette was. He said that he has been asked that many times and his answer is always the same. He said "The best Corvette made was the last one to leave the assembly line". The reason is that improvements are continually being made and each Corvette that rolls off the line is better than the one before it.
This is a fair and un-biased answer to this question. To say that any specific model, ZR1, Z06, Grand Sport, or whatever, is better that the others is simply ones opinion. Gordon's answer is a fact.
