Numbers always appear towards the right of a cell, as they are right-aligned. Text normally appears to the left of a cell. Alignment for text can be set to the right, like if you want the text to the right of a cell to be closer to the data in the next cell. Pressing Ctrl - 1 will open the Format Cells dialog box. On the Alignment tab, you can choose to set the alignment to the right.
You can align an Excel cell to left, right, and center.
Text will align to the left and numbers and dates align to the right.

It is the default setting for text. It aligns the text to the right side of a cell. If you use left align, the text will be aligned to the left side of the cell. If you use center align, the text will be aligned in the center of the cell.
Within the Alignment section on the Home tab of Excel, you can align the text of a selected cell from center, left, right or justified. It also allow you to merge cells and wrap text.
In Word, highlight the text you want to center. In Excel, click on the cell you want to center.Click on the text button to center. (The right align button should be highlighted, then change when you click on center.)

Usually - unless formatted differently, spreadsheet programs align data to the left for text.or right for numbers.
Use the decimal form of 12 percent which is 0.12 and format it to percentage, or type in 12% and it should align to the right as a percentage.
