Do physicians travel?
Besides traveling for vacations or recreation, some physicians
travel to give care. Around 2005, "visiting physicians" began going
out into patients' homes, almost as a return to the bedside care
physicians gave before the 1940s. Hospitals had completely replaced
time in the home, but with nursing "home care" it was only a matter
of time before physicians also returned to treat at a patient's
home.
As well, some physicians are hired by high profile persons such
as politicians or celebrities and many travel with the patient
worldwide, on a yearly salary and contract.
