Thermo fans are used to keep amplifiers from over heating. They are hooked up to the amplifiers with a controller unit. When the controller unit hits a pre programmed temperature the thermo fan kicks on to cool down the amp.

How do you repair the electric fan from continually running when the car is off?

This is caused by one of two things, if the fan is controlled by the thermo switch even when the car is off, then either the thermo switch or the relay is stuck on. If the fan never runs when the car is off, then it's a stuck or shorted relay.

How do you install a Ford AU drive belt?

easiest way. remove thermo fan. should be two bolts holding fan and a electrical plug. remove the plastic guard around power steering pump. you will need a 10mm socket and ratchet to undo the nut on the thermostat housing. use a long series rachet and turn tensioner. remove belt. easiest way to install belt is to invert the belt so writing is facing inwards. start at the tensioner and work around crank anti clockwise. putting on alternator and power steering last. reinstall thermo fan and plug in thermo fan plug. note: the thermo fan is usually a snug fit to get out. have to slide it past the auto cooler fittings and top radiator hose fitting. note: the thermo fan sits in two plastic holders on the radiator. make sure the thermo fan sits in properly, otherwise you will end up having big problems. seen it done. reinstall the plastic guard around power steering pump. should take about five minutes to do. done about a hundred of them.

Why does my Air conditioner and fan does not work in my 1999 VW passat?

Hi, I have had the same problem with my '98 Passat. The cause is probably a failure in the thermo-fan coil or circuit. When the thermo-fan is broken, the air conditioning will be overloaded due to the lack of airflow and will cut out. I have found that if the air conditioning system has been recently re-gassed, it will work during highway driving, but not during low speed driving while there is no airflow. I'd suggest fixing the thermo-fan first, then re-gassing the air con, see how you go from there! Good luck

Does the voltage regulator fan work continuously?
