The treehouse represents peace and childhood innocence. It is hidden in the leaves, away from all the evils of the world, and it allows the children to feel sheltered and safe in a "perfect" little world they create for themselves. Nothing is ugly or revealed and naked/exposed there.

Well they represent Mrs. Dubose's racism because they are white and the "Snow-on-the-mountain" means that whites are higher (not that I support this) and Mrs. Dubose is racist. When Jem hacks at them he is attempting to destroy Mrs. Dubose's racism. I'm just trying to figure out what the symbolism of the candy box is....

The single white camellia in "To Kill a Mockingbird" symbolizes innocence and purity. It is often associated with the character of Tom Robinson, who is wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. The white camellia serves as a reminder of the injustice and racism prevalent in the society of Maycomb.
