Not sure of the correct answer but we've always called it the skunk line... as in if you havent made it passed the 's' when someone wins you got skunked! some people say it referes to the streets (which are is the name for the lines of holes that you peg on) but I think skunks line is better!

On a cribbage board, there should be a "s" where the pegs go. If one person finishes the game and the other player or players are still behind this line, then the person who won "skunked" the other person or people. The s should be located about 3 quarters the way into the game board.
