Foreshadowing is a glimpse if what is about to happen. Ex: If only the boy knew how wrong he was.

Foreshadowing - an author drops subtle hints about plot developments to come later in his/her story. It's a way of not giving all the information at once. A creative writer can have foreshadowing inside of foreshadowing for several plots or characters.

It means to go over all your written work to check for errors or fragments. (That's editing)

It means that there is an incident that is similar to an incident that comes later. For example when Ebeneezer Scrooge seen the face of his dead partner Marley in the door knocker it foreshadow the appear of Marley's ghost later that night.

Foreshadowing in literature refers to hints or clues provided by the author that suggest future events. It builds anticipation and suspense in the reader by giving them a glimpse of what is to come later in the story. Foreshadowing often adds depth and complexity to the narrative.
