When your tyre blows, do not apply the brakes very hard as this can cause you to lose control.
You should keep calm, take your foot of the gas. Come to a slow stop using gentle braking if needed. Try to keep a steady course. The steering wheel may be flighty so this may take some effort. Gently edge the car to the edge of the road out of the flow of traffic if possible. Remove yourself to a safe place away from the flow of traffic and/or set up warning triangles as needed by your local laws. You can panic after you have stopped.
A car can fishtail when a rear tire blows due to a dramatic reduction in traction. When the tire blows, it is quickly ripped from the rim which leaves very little contact with the road.
