This is why we have forgiveness--to release ourselves from that person and our need to "enlighten them". just politely break away COMPLETELY from such persons...their path will bring them to their destiny. Our path will be destroyed if we hang with them...so in a kind way just look elsewhere for friends, etc.

It means completely preoccupied with oneself (to an unhealthy extent).
Umm...well you can call them a cutter, a self- mutilator a self- injurer, and sometimes cutters are called emo which can be offensive to them because not all have classified themselves as an emo or goth person. This could just be how they have to release their pain.
