Demerol is known to cause nausea in most people who take it. Taking Promethazine with it reduces the nausea effect that the drug produces because it is an antimedic. There use to be a pill that had both medications in it called Mepergan Fortis but it is no longer manufactured. No idea why. Even though Mepergan is no longer available, most doctors that prescribe Demerol also prescribe Phenergan with it.

Effectiveness will vary from person to person. It depends on the dosages, the formulation, etc. However, I can tell you that the chances of you being prescribed Demerol by mouth aren't good. Most Md.'s will not prescribe Demerol tablets. You will probably be given oxycodone as a take home med.
Hey ok so demerol you want to no where you get it well you get precription for it from the doctors then you can get it from pharmacy....but you must be careful because it is addictive so if you are going to take it make sure you dont overdose or get the wrong amount...if you get addicted it is very hard to get off of demerol and you can only do it with help also it can leave you with brain damage or worse so just be careful if you want to get dermerol!!!! sophia
Demerol is an opiate. I could be wrong but I believe that demerol is a schedule II narcotic.
