There are at least 135 known genera of pterosaur, and each genus has at least one species. Different species had different diets, but all known pterosaurs were carnivores. Some ate insects, others ate fish, and some at small land animals like lizards, amphibians, and primitive mammals. There were even a few types that were filter feeders similar to flamingoes, which eat brine shrimp.
