Polish people like to stick with tradition. They don't eat any meat on Christmas Eve. Usually instead of meat it's a fish. Most popular - carp, but other fishes are eaten too. Also, they have some traditional food. Soups made of mashrooms or beetroot soup, any kind of salads, sweets and cakes; apple tarts, cheesecakes and a sponge cake with a poppyseed filling called "makowiec" are the most popular.
