It is clean clothes which cover (for a girl) all of the arm up to the hands, all of the hair and covers the ankles. Basically the only skin to be shown for a girl is the face and hands. For men it is not obligatory to wear those 'hats' as people call them. But anyway men's ankles are to be shown unlike the females.

PS. if there are any Muslims who wish to correct me feel free. All the info i get is off my parents and Muslim friends, if i made a mistake give me a break I'm only 14!

No special cloth that men should wear for praying. He should wear, during praying or out of praying, the clothing that meets Islam religion requirements as explained below:

Muslim clothing:

Muslims are free in selecting and choosing what they want to dress or to wear. However, per Islam religion, the cloth should meet particular basic requirements to:

  • ensure Muslim modesty in her/his dressing,
  • avoid sexy excitation or any sexy feelings when looking to the opposite gender.
  • match the approved community clothing practices that do not contradict religion obligations

These clothing particular requirements are:

For men, there is no specific clothing requirement by religion. It is subject to the local cultures and traditions. However, the cloth:

  • should, at least, cover the body from the naval to the knees, and
  • should not be from silk.

In addition, men are not allowed to wear or use gold as ring, necklace, or by anyhow.

For women, no restriction on the cloth material or colors. The cloth could be from silk or any other material. It could be colorful or not. It could be dark colored, white colored, of different colors, whatever. It could be one piece cloth or more than one piece. However, women are commanded by Islam to wear cloth that:

  • covers the whole body, including hair, except the face and the hands and feet up to ankles.
  • not so tight to describe the woman body or sexy parts, and
  • not so transparent to make the under cloth visible.

The part of the cloth covering the head (and hair), but not the face, is called Hijab and this basic woman dressing requirement per religion .
